A unique opportunity for Nigerian students to win a tuition scholarship on a Foundation AND Degree at one of our partner ISC Universities in the UK
Last year we launched a scholarship competition in Nigeria. We are very proud to announce this year's competition.
Entry criteria apply and the winners are chosen on the strength of an essay competition submitted by the beginning of April.
The scholarships are for September 2009 start date.
The following scholarships are available to win:
- 1 x 50% tuition fee reduction on four term Foundation Diploma and
- 100% tuition fee reduction on two years Undergraduate Degree at Keele University
- 1 x 50% tuition fee reduction on two or three term Pre-Masters and 100% tuition fee reduction on one year Postgraduate Degree
- 1 x 50% tuition fee reduction on one year Undergraduate Certificate and for duration of Undergraduate Degree at University of Stirling
- 1 x 50% tuition fee reduction on one year Foundation and £2,500 fee reduction per year for duration of Undergraduate Degree at University of Sussex
- 1 x 50% tuition scholarship on Foundation Year and for duration of an Undergraduate Degree at University of Wales, Newport.
The competition
Applicants must submit an essay of 1200 – 1500 words together with academic transcripts.
The essay title is: Why I wish to study at a top UK university.
The essays are judged by an Academic Director of Bellerbys College in the UK
The deadline for entries is 15th April 2009 (15th June 2009 for Keele)
The winners will be announced 5th May 2009 (25th June for Keele)
The awards will be presented in Nigeria between 11th-19th May 2009.
Entry criteria
Minimum academic entry requirement: WAEC Grade C+ in 5 subjects including Grade B in either Maths or English. Mock results are acceptable for entry. Please note that for a Foundation Diploma at Keele the requirements are: WAEC Grade A1/2 (1 exc/2 v good) or B3/4 (3 good/4 credit) in 4 or more subjects; for the Pre-Masters applicants will need a recognised first degree or HND in related subject area (Distinction/Upper Credit). Mock results are acceptable for entry to Keele too.
Essay: must be typed. 1200 – 1500 words (At least 2 sides of A4)
Minimum age: 17 by 31st August 2009
Maximum age: 20
Visa eligibility: entries will need to meet visa assessment approval by a nominated agent. (This does not represent a guarantee of successful visa issue)
Scholarship preference: you may state your preferred scholarship with your entry. In the event that you are a winner, we will endeavour (but do not guarantee) to award you with the scholarship of your choice
